Health Care Services
The Kidzpositive Family Fund is dedicated to improving the lives of children and families affected by HIV/AIDS and other chronic diseases. As an organisation we implement holistic health care interventions, which target the physical, social and developmental needs of our patients and edifies the existing services provided by the clinics where we operate.
In South Africa hundreds of children are born HIV-positive every day, but with holistic health care and correct medication these children can live healthy, fulfilled lives. The Kidzpositive Family Fund supports a comprehensive approach to sustainable health care for children, with easy access to ARVs and regular medical check-ups. Our Occupational Therapists provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to children rendered vulnerable through their illness.
Apart from general health services, our teenagers also have access to a psychologist who addresses their mental health concerns on a one-to-one basis. This service is reinforced by a team of counsellors that can identify cultural and social needs of our youth.
Group support services are delivered to adolescents once their disease status has been disclosed to them. Support groups provide them with a platform to connect with peers in similar circumstances.
Because we aim for holistic treatment delivery to the entire family, we also provide health care services to parents with HIV/AIDS.
